Arteest

A painter always starts with a blank canvas- snow white, pure & untouched, so beautiful and yet begging for life. Stroke by stroke, he paints. Behind every motion, the intention of beauty, of perfection. He never sets out to create something mediocre or below par. No, his sole aim is perfection, a flawless piece of art. Painstakingly he will blot and dab and color and layer and step back and observe and bite his lip- all until it is perfect. Then, a smile.

God cannot create mediocrity because he is the embodiment of perfection. There is no junk in His kingdom or His family. He did not create us, neither you nor I, to walk daily in mediocrity or to live a lackluster life. He created us, painstakingly created us, weaving us together- every passion in our hearts, every hair on our heads, every day of our lives- for something more.

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." --Ephesians 2:10

Good things! For us! Good things for people who don't deserve them. Good things for people who, for all intensive purposes, should be mediocre but God demands more, requires more, and gives more.
