This is the first time in 16 years that I have no had to go back to school shopping or rummaging through stacks of notebooks to find one that I need. This is the first time in 16 years that I no longer must bear the title of "student." I'm alright with that.
I've got a life to live outside of a classroom; I'm hoping that this will be a year of living and not just existing. I find it funny that I always think that the year starts and ends with my classes- yet another adjustment that must be made.
I realize that I have no updated this blog in two months- that's a long time. This summer was a whirlwind of all sorts of thing and I'm not in the mood to talk about it. I'd rather talk about the future than the past.
Okay, fine. First comes the present: I've send out MANY resumes over the past three weeks and have no heard a single thing back from any of them. Thank the Lord for my job at The Manor, although it's getting REALLY old. I'm waiting for something to happen in the new job department. I'll honestly take a job that isn't much different from the one that I have now if it means a change of pace, a change of scenery.
Since my job's a bore, I'm trying to spice up my life by trying new things:
I'm doing a "Couch to 5K" running program. I run in places where I fear for my life.
I'm trying to do some crafting. I'm making fun things out of scrapbooking paper- I realize how boring this sounds. I'm planning on doing some sewing with Grams, maybe making some pillows. I'm essentially trying to find ways to expedite turning into an old lady.
MareBearPig cut my hair. For the first time in like...2 and a half years, I have a new hairstyle. I'm liking it. It's a nice little "in between cut" while I grow my hair out a bit.
Lastly, I downloaded "The Medicine", John Mark McMillan's latest album. I love it.
Lastly, Boob, Mare, & I are planning on getting inked this weekend. It should look maybe, kind of, a little like this. I'm not decided on the font.It means "servant" in Spanish. It will be a reminder that I am firstly a servant of God and secondly, a servant to others. I chose Spanish because, well, I love Spanish. WAY MORE THAN ENGLISH. I feel a strange but tangible connection to the Spanish language. I'm looking to go with a "handwriting" font because of my passion for writing. We shall see!

About Me

- I'm 23 & I feel old already. I write because it's who I am. I appreciate a good song much more than a good book. All my heart wants to do is to travel this beautiful world in the name of Jesus.
