After a long weekend at camp with way too many costume changes and crazy sports played in crazy weather, I needed to chill today. I did my reading for Survey of English Lit II (boring, sucks, wish I could burn that 3000 page book, but that's enough about that).
My parents had picked up a couple of movies from Blockbuster so I decided to watch a flick. Seven Pounds. I was extremely skeptical because I had heard that it was extremely confusing. I got a lot of the, "you definitely don't understand it the first time," responses and also a lot of, "it was too boring until the end." So, with my eyes glued to the television, I watched Seven Pounds- even though I really, really, really had to pee.
"In seven days God created the world. In seven seconds, I destroyed mine."
Wow.
I'm not too sure what was overly confusing about the movie because I could see it coming, something coming. I suppose that I watched it so intently that I could understand on my first shot. Honestly, I thought that it was a fabulous movie about love, consequence, and the good that can come out of pain. I'm not typically a movie critic but I give it two thumbs up. It comes highly recommended.
Oh! and bring some tissues. For the full effect, you may want to watch it by yourself.
