A New Car

Posted: 04 February 2009 | Posted by Alyssa |

I bought a car last night. I'm quite excited. Excitement, however, does not overshadow the threat of independence that this car will bring: my own car loan, my own insurance. I'm beginning to wonder how I will be able to pay for all of this junk. I did the math and I'll be lucky if I end up with $40 in my account by the end of the month. I have got to find a way to pick up some more hours at work or maybe even another job for just for one night a week. I should probably check at the Corner Store and see if they need help. I'm not sure when I'll even be able to squeeze that into my schedule. Another thing that this week has showed me is really how busy I am and how much I continue to push my time to the limit.

Every other Sunday: Discipleship meetings
Mondays (for now): Top Secret Meetings
Tuesdays: Mariah
Wednesday: Church
Thursday: Women's bible study or Anya and April
Friday: Nothing. I guess that I could try to fill this space with something, like a job.
Saturday: Work. I'm also going to have to shimmey Anya and April in here somewhere. I'm not too sure about all of this. It's stressing me out. Alas, I need a car that's both reliable and fuel efficient. I also know that God is going to use this opportunity to teach me a whole lot about financial responsibility.

I think that I'll adopt the non-American mindset about work and money that my spanish professor shared with me: "In America, you all live to work but in South America, we work to live. There's a difference."

Well then! Dave and Danielle are here! I think that we'll do lunch!!!

You do have a lot on your plate, you've always been very wise with your time, but dont forget to allow time for yourself and to be quiet. Love you !

  4. The humor of this moment is found in its redundancy.
